PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Santa Clara University men and women's crews both qualified for the Petite Finals of their respective classes after finishing fourth in their semifinal races Saturday morning at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa.

Just one day after posting their best time of the season, the Bronco women's varsity eight crossed the finish line in a time of 7:10.1, good enough for fourth place in semifinal number three. Their time and place puts them into the Petite Final which will be held at 3:36 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday.

The men's varsity eight finished fourth in semifinal number one with a time of 6:21.9, just 6.4 seconds behind third place Delaware. Their position qualifies them for the Petite Finals that will be held at 4:18 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday.

Both the men and women will be racing out of lane number six in their Petite Final. Following those races, the Broncos return to California for the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships on May 16-17 and the Pac-10 Championships on May 18, both of which will be held at Lake Natoma near Sacramento, Calif.
