Men's Crew Opened Fall Season With Two Top-10 Finishes.

SACRAMENTO - The Santa Clara men's crew team open its fall 5K season at the Head of the Port race in Sacramento last weekend. The Broncos entered three boats into the race, two eight-man boats and a four-man boat.

"Our finishes were okay," said assistant coach Jimmy Shoven. "We're eager to get back to practice and pick up some more boat speed."

The Bronco Eights finished in third place and 10th place with times of 19:25 and 21:14, respectively. The Bronco Four took 10th place with a time of 25:34. Below are the top finishers and Santa Clara's times.

The men race again on Saturday, Oct. 25 in the Head of the American in Sacramento. The Broncos will also race at the Head of the Estuary on Sunday, Oct. 26 in Oakland.
