Hole-in-One: Recapping the 29th Annual Bronco Bench Golf Classic!
Sept. 18, 2007
It's been a week since over 250 SCU alumni, SCU student-athletes, BBF volunteers, and Bronco sports enthusiasts descended upon the lush greens and challenging fairways of the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club to participate in the 29th Annual Bronco Bench Golf Classic, and yet the buzz created by this event is still the talk of the town!
For those who were unable to attend, golfers in this year's event were treated to a host of tournament perks including:
Lunch provided courtesy of Dan Brunello of Le Boulanger bakery, A bottle of wine with a commemorative Dick Davey label courtesy of Guglielmo Winery, Up to two chances to win a brand new BMW courtesy of Stevens Creek BMW, Multiple sleeves of golf balls courtesy of Comerica Bank and Cinnabar Hills Golf Club, Up to 3 closest to the hole competitions courtesy of The Tequila Guy, Up to 2 longest drive competitions courtesy of TaylorMade golf, A host of on-course competitions and chances to win terrific raffle prizes, The 19th Hole sponsored by Jerome A. Bellotti CPA, First American Title Insurance Company and CBIZ Accounting, Tax and Advisory Services LLC and A dinner program emceed by former SCU Bronco and SF Forty-Niner, Brent Jones '85, that included a special tribute from the Bronco Bench Foundation to Dick Davey for his 30 years of service to the Santa Clara men's basketball program; not to mention a great day of golf with fellow Broncos!

Brent Jones '85 and Brandi Chastain '91 both enjoyed the the golf and catching up with fellow alums at the tournament. |
|
The day could best be summed-up by one golfer who asked to remain nameless. He said, "Everything about the day personified style and class. It made me so proud to be a Bronco!"
Already looking forward to next year, the Bronco Bench Foundation is thrilled to announce that Brent Jones '85 will be back, Heritage Bank of Commerce will once again be our title sponsor and the 30th Annual Bronco Bench Golf Classic will once again take place at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club! Frankly, if this year's tournament is any sort of indication of our potential for next year, the Woods, Nicklaus, Palmer and Trevino foursome better register now!
