Bronco Bench Foundation Announces New Levels and Benefits
July 2, 2008
Due to the generosity of our members and the hard work of the BBF Trustees, the Bronco Bench Foundation has once again exceeded its annual fundraising goals for the 2007-08 fiscal year. In conjunction with surpluses from prior years, the BBF has built-up a substantial reserve account to protect against potential fundraising shortfalls in the future and in hopes of being able to eventually increase the total amount of athletic scholarship aid available for Santa Clara's student-athletes. SCU's Athletic Department and the Bronco Bench Foundation are very pleased to announce that in light of BBF's recent success and the simultaneous creation of a BBF reserve, the University has determined that the Bronco Bench Foundation may now start using future annual surpluses to increase the total amount of athletic scholarship aid awarded to Santa Clara's student-athletes. Adding to this incredible news, the Bronco Bench Foundation will be unveiling new membership levels and benefits for the 2008-09 year. Among the enhancements to which our members can look forward will be: a) increases in the total dollar value of the benefits available, b) new benefits that will allow our members to attend other BBF events, c) a simplified schedule of levels that better reflects our donors' giving preferences and d) significantly reduced membership rates for recent SCU alumni. In addition to the benefits our members used to receive, and can still count on receiving (Bronco Sports magazine, Pre-Game/Halftime Basketball receptions/chalk-talks, discounted/complimentary basketball tickets, preferred parking and All-Sports passes), here are some of the new benefits available for our BBF members: Free Admission to BBF Program Support Events: periodically, throughout the year, BBF will host receptions prior to a variety of SCU athletic events. Free Admission to BBF's All-Sports BBQ & Student-Athlete Day at Schott Stadium: (includes baseball game admission): annual All-Sports BBQ and year-end tribute to our student-athletes prior to one of the last home baseball games of the year.
Free Admission to the BBF Endowment Recognition Dinner: annual BBF recognition dinner honoring the living scholarship and endowed scholarship donors, featuring presentations by SCU student-athletes who are the recipients of these scholarships. Free Entry into one or both of BBF's signature Golf Tournaments: includes the SJ BBF Golf Classic and the LA President's Club Golf Tournament. Free Travel/Accommodations on BBF's Team Trip: Next year's destination likely to be Las Vegas, NV for the WCC Basketball Tournament! Here are the new membership levels and the estimated dollar value of the additional benefits to which our members will be entitled: Varsity ($200): Now includes 1 ticket to the All-Sports BBQ and admission to other program support receptions; an estimated $40 increase in additional benefits. For recent SCU graduates, Varsity level memberships are even better: First Year after graduation: $10 or free with the purchase of a Ruff Rider Plus Membership in the Fall of 2008 or later. Second Year after graduation: $25 Third Year after graduation: $50 Fourth Year after graduation: $75 Fifth Year after graduation: $100 All-Conference ($750): Now includes 2 tickets to the All-Sports BBQ and admission to other program support receptions; an estimated $75 increase in additional benefits.
