Bronco Fans: After narrowly losing to the Toreros of San Diego on Friday and Saturday, the Broncos' Baseball team bounced back and earned their most important victory of the season on Sunday. Not only did they beat the #6 team in the country in a 9-inning nail biter, but they also secured the coveted West Coast Conference Commissioner's Cup for Santa Clara's Athletic Department for the 2nd time in the past 3 years! Awarded to the school with the top performing all-around athletic department in the Conference, the Commissioner's Cup is the ultimate achievement for West Coast Conference schools. Conference championships by Men's and Women's Soccer and solid second place finishes by Men's Basketball and Women's Crew helped lead the way, but this accomplishment was clearly the result of a department-wide effort. Perhaps what's most impressive about the Broncos receiving this award this year, is that Santa Clara's student-athletes also raised their cumulative GPA above 3.0 for the first time ever and have maintained the highest 4-year rolling average graduation rate in the West Coast Conference; further demonstrating their commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as in athletic competition. If you want to be a part of the Broncos' winning tradition and help Santa Clara's student-athletes continue their all-around excellence, become a member of (or renew your membership to) the Bronco Bench Foundation today!
