31st Annual BBF Golf Classic presented by Heritage Bank of Commerce

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Bronco Bench Foundation is pleased to announce that our friends at Heritage Bank of Commerce will be presenting the 31st Annual BBF Golf Classic at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009.

This year, after providing our guests with a great day of golf and a chance to meet many of our current student-athletes, we will be commemorating the 20th anniversary of Santa Clara's first National Championship by honoring the 1989 Men's Soccer team at the post-tournament dinner.

Under coach Steve Sampson, the Broncos posted a nearly perfect 20-0-3 record. During that season, current Assistant Coach, Eric Yamamoto '90, set the program's best single-season goals-against average at 0.47 goals/game; and team captain, and current head coach, Cameron Rast '92, earned First Team All-American honors for his contributions that season. Please join us for the golf and stay as we celebrate the achievements of the Broncos 1989 Men's Soccer Team whose National Championship will always hold a special place within the rich history of Santa Clara athletics.

The BBF Golf Classic provides a tremendous opportunity for Bronco fans to reunite with friends, classmates and former teammates, enjoy a day of good food and great golf on a gorgeous course, all while helping the Bronco Bench Foundation to provide financial support for student-athlete scholarships at Santa Clara University. For over 45 years, the Bronco Bench Foundation has been supporting Santa Clara's student-athletes and the BBF Golf Classic is an excellent way to kick-off their efforts for the 2009-10 school year.

Last year's event witnessed over 170 golfers playing on all 27 holes. Their collective effort, helped to raise over $60,000 for athletic scholarships for Santa Clara's student-athletes. We hope that you will join us this year to ensure that we have more golfers, have more fun and ultimately raise more money for Santa Clara's student-athletes!

Thanks to the generosity of these and other donors, the Bronco Bench Foundation is able to provide roughly 33% of all of the athletic scholarship aid offered to Santa Clara's student-athletes.
