A Letter from the President Welcome!
SAAC recently organized a WCC food drive in which the student-athletes generously brought in over 7,500 items that were donated to Sacred Heart Community Service in San Jose. Women's water polo, who brought in over 1,600 cans, are the winners of a new tradition in which the team that brings in the most food then chooses a game where athletes from every team must attend in full uniform. Women's water polo dominated Princeton with the help of hundreds of cheering athletes honoring the winners of the WCC food drive. Another community service opportunity I encourage you to get involved in is Relay for Life, a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society on May 20th. There are many upcoming events to get excited about starting with The Battle of the Broncos Dodgeball Tournament on April 23rd that includes athletes, non-athlete students, SCU alumni, faculty and staff. One of the most popular SAAC sponsored events is the Athlete's Ball that is also nearing in May. The final event of the year is Senior Awards Night where the seniors are honored for individual achievements and contributions to the Bronco family. SAAC is committed to forming a strong family among the athletes as well as extending this family to the Santa Clara community both in and outside of the university. As this year comes to an end I encourage everyone to remember what it means to be a Bronco, to support your fellow athletes with pride and to end this year with a bang! Go Broncos! |
