Teal Sewards is in her fourth year as an integral part of the athletic development staff at Santa Clara University in 2006-07 and third as Assistant Athletic Director for Development. Sewards is responsible for soliciting major gifts for both capital projects and endowed athletic scholarship. She also oversees the athletic department's corporate partnership program, generating department revenue through advertising, marketing and suite sales. She will continue to work in cooperation with the Bronco Bench Foundation's annual giving efforts. She was promoted to Senior Woman Administrator on June 14, 2006. In her new role as SWA, Sewards will attend the West Coast Conference meetings with the athletic director, while also working as a liaison to the NCAA. A 2000 graduate of the University of Redlands, Sewards joined Santa Clara in August of that year as assistant director of annual and special gifts. While in that position, she assisted in all phases of the university development office with an emphasis on managing annual gift campaigns and solicitations. Sewards was promoted to associate director for major gifts in June 2002, where she planned and implemented numerous regional campaign events and served as the lead fundraiser for Stephen Schott Stadium. A former softball student-athlete while at Redlands, Sewards served as a student manager of the Redlands Fund Phone Program while an undergraduate students. She organized and contributed to teams that raised over one million dollars through phoning efforts. Sewards currently serves on the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors. She has served as a member of the University of Redlands Alumni Board of Directors and is a regular presenter at the annual JAA and CASE conferences.
