Janice DeMonsi joined the athletic staff at Santa Clara University in June 2002 as the Director of Recreation and serves on the athletic department senior staff in her 11th season on the Mission Campus.
DeMonsi oversees the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation on the SCU campus and is responsible for coordinating the club sports, intramural sports and lifetime fitness programs. She also is in charge of the annual Bronco Kids All Sports Camp.
Prior to joining the Bronco staff, DeMonsi was the director of recreation and guest services at UC Berkeley from 2000-02. Her responsibilities included overseeing the day to day operations of the recreational sports facility and the Haas recreational locker room. DeMonsi also supervised 120 student workers at the recreational facility.
DeMonsi graduated from the University of Arizona in 1996 with a bachelor's in art history. While attending UA, DeMonsi was the program assistant of aquatics at the campus recreation center. She is actively involved in the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association. She presented in 2001 & 2012 at the national conference and as of April 2012 is a member of the NIRSA Sustainablity Committee.
DeMonsi (formerly Hayes) and her husband, Darren, were married in June 2004 and reside in Scotts Valley with their son Evan.
