David Gentile is in his fourth year as the Digital Media Manager for Santa Clara athletics. He directs all live and pre-produced video for the department, serves as play-by-play broadcaster for baseball and soccer, and is sports information director for volleyball, beach volleyball and men's/womens's cross country/track & field.

Gentile is also the video liaison with the West Coast Conference. He directs live boradcasts for online streaming on TheW.tv and provides the WCC with video for weekly productions.

Gentile called 29 baseball video broadcasts on TheW.tv in 2015 as well as 15 audio-only Internet broadcasts for road games. He combined to work 42 Internet-only baseball broadcasts in the 2014-15 seasons. Gentile broadcasted 18 soccer matches on TheW.tv in fall 2015 and worked alongside Bronco soccer alumnus Aly Wagner as a play-by-play announcer for SCU soccer in fall 2014. He called men's basketball games against LMU and BYU for radio at the 2014 West Coast Conference Championships.

In summer 2013, Gentile worked as a Broadcast/Media Relations intern with Minor League Baseball’s Orem Owlz, a rookie-level affiliate of the LA Angels of Anaheim. He provided color commentary on radio broadcasts for Owlz home games while producing game notes, posting in-game social media score updates, writing/posting game recaps to the team’s official website and overseeing postgame media interviews. In summer 2012, he was the radio play-by-play announcer for the San Luis Obispo Blues of the California Collegiate League. Gentile also wrote postgame recaps for the Blues.

He graduated from Gonzaga University in 2012 with degrees in Broadcast/Electronic Media and Journalism. His broadcasting background at Gonzaga consisted of play-by-play announcing, producing, directing, shooting and editing videos in addition to a number of different roles in live and pre-produced events. Gentile served as the Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, The Gonzaga Bulletin, in the fall 2011 semester. He was also a sports editor/staff writer and a news editor/staff writer as part of a six-semester stint with the Bulletin.

Originally from Carlsbad, Calif., he currently lives in San Jose.
