David Gentile is in his second year as the Digital Media Manager for Santa Clara athletics. He coordinates video production for EYEBRONCO, the official video network of Santa Clara athletics, which includes co-producing the Bronco Weekly Sports Wrap, as well as feature videos and interviews.
Gentile is the video liaison with the West Coast Conference and TheW.tv, directing live sporting events for online streaming and providing the conference with video for weekly shows. He is the sports information director for baseball, men's rowing, and men's/women's cross country & track. Gentile served as radio play-by-play announcer for 22 Bronco baseball games in spring 2014 and 20 baseball games in spring 2015. He worked alongside Bronco soccer alumnus Aly Wagner as a play-by-play announcer for SCU soccer in fall 2014.
In summer 2013, Gentile worked as a Broadcast/Media Relations intern with Minor League Baseball’s Orem Owlz, a rookie-level affiliate of the LA Angels of Anaheim. He provided color commentary on radio broadcasts for Owlz home games while producing game notes, posting in-game social media score updates, writing/posting game recaps to the team’s official website and overseeing postgame media interviews. In summer 2012, he was the radio play-by-play announcer for the San Luis Obispo Blues of the California Collegiate League. Gentile also wrote postgame recaps for the Blues.
He graduated from Gonzaga University in 2012 with degrees in Broadcast/Electronic Media and Journalism. His broadcasting background at Gonzaga consisted of play-by-play announcing, producing, directing, shooting and editing videos in addition to a number of different roles in live and pre-produced events. Gentile served as the Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, The Gonzaga Bulletin, in the fall 2011 semester. He was also a sports editor/staff writer and a news editor/staff writer as part of a six-semester stint with the Bulletin.
Originally from Carlsbad, Calif., he currently lives in San Jose.
