Scott Heinrichson joined the athletic staff at Santa Clara University in June 2000 as the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine. Heinrichson is responsible for volleyball and baseball, and oversees the men's and women's cross country team. He travels with the teams for the prevention and care of any injuries the student-athletes may encounter. He is also in charge of the student trainer development program, which gives students an opportunity to learn about athletic training. Heinrichson graduated from San Diego State University in June 1995 and earned a bachelor's degree in physical education with an emphasis in athletic training/pre-physical therapy. He holds a master's degree in physical education with an emphasis in Sports Administration, which he received from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Prior to joining the athletic staff, Heinrichson was the head athletic trainer at Dominican University in San Rafael, Calif. and a staff athletic trainer at Asher Physical Therapy Clinic in Larkspur. He designed and implemented the rehabilitation programs at the university, administered condition programs and maintained the athlete's medical records. While attending Northern Colorado, Heinrichson was a graduate assistant athletic trainer, supervising 16 undergraduate trainers in an NATA-approved curriculum program. He also provided practice and event coverage as well as travel for 13 NCAA Division II sports. Heinrichson, a native of the Bay Area, is single and resides in Santa Clara. |
