It's a Men's Thing Page 207 Santa Clara defeats St. Mary’s in the 1950 “Little Big Game” at Kezar Stadium. “The Rally Committee announced that in cooperation with the married students a special section will be set up for women. They will be permitted in the section under the following conditions: 1) Wives and dates of Santa Clara students will have their own section directly behind the main student section; 2) Their tickets are to be purchased at the athletic office. There is a limited number of tickets available; 3) Women in this section are asked to wear white blouses, sweaters, or some white garment; 4) Full cooperation must be given to the Rally Committee if this is to be continued.” -- Student report, The Santa Clara, Oct. 2, 1952 Photo courtesy of Associated Press, ASCU
