During its four-year existence, the Rivalry Series between Santa Clara and San Jose State universities has been anything but.

The Broncos dominated the all-sport series in 2005-06, just as they did the three previous seasons. Thanks to sweeps by their men's and women's teams in soccer and basketball, SCU won 10 of 13 head-to-head matchups against the Spartans, which equates to a 26-6 victory based on the scoring system.

The Broncos won 24-8 last year, 22-10 the year before that and 20-10 the year before that.

As a result, the Rivalry Series trophy hasn't budged from its place in the Santa Clara athletic department.

``We're thrilled with what is happening here at Santa Clara,'' Broncos Athletic Director Dan Coonan said last week at the annual Rivalry Series barbecue.

The Rivalry Series was created in 2002 to generate interest in the schools' athletic programs.
