SCU Athletics To Host Women's Sports Luncheon

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University Athletic Department will be hosting its fourth annual "Get In the Game" Women's Sports Luncheon Friday, May 5 on the upper court of the Leavey Center. The event begins with a reception at 11:30 a.m. while lunch and presentations from guest speakers will begin at 12 noon and last until 1:30 p.m. Tickets for the luncheon are available for $25 per person, and $15 for alumni from the Classes of 2001-05.
This event is an opportunity for women to ensure the continued success of Santa Clara's ten female sports teams by contributing to Santa Clara Athletics.
Guest speakers at the luncheon include athletic director Dan Coonan, senior volleyball player Rachel Greenberg, women's golf head coach Polly Schulze, and featured speaker Cheryl Kruse Shwe, founder and coach of Run 4 Life, LLC.
Santa Clara Athletics has enjoyed unparalleled success over the last five seasons, including most recently its first-ever NCAA Volleyball Final Four appearance in 2005. The women's soccer team captured its first national title in 2001.
SCU has captured nine conference titles in that time, as well as boasting 18 All-Americans, nine conference Coach of the Year honors, one National Coach of the Year award and more than 150 All-Conference and Academic All-Conference winners.
