SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University student-athletes from the men and women's cross country, rowing and softball teams will be participating in the 8th annual City Hall Open House, organized by the City of Santa Clara Saturday.
Four annual events are scheduled in conjuntion with the Open House, including the Santa Clara Kiwanis & Lions Fish Derby, the Santa Clara Arts & Historical Consortium's Open House, and the Triton Museum of Art Family Day.
The City Hall Open House will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and features new demonstrations from the Fire and Police Departments and exhibits of police, fire and public works vehicles. Meet City officials and employees, and learn about City services from interactive displays. Community groups and organizations, including Santa Clara Athletics, will provide entertainment and more.
The Fish Derby, sponsored by the Santa Clara Kiwanis and Lions Clubs, is free and open to children ages 2 to 11. The reflection pond behind City Hall will be stocked with trout, and bait and poles provided so children can "go fishing" from 6:30 a.m. to about 11 a.m.
The Santa Clara Arts & Historical Consortium's Open House takes place at the Headen-Inman House, adjacent to the Triton Museum. The event includes music, refreshments, and exhibits that highlight the heritage and diversity of Santa Clara.
Triton Museum of Art Family Day will feature hands-on art activities and much more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition, the museum will be open and several exhibitions will be on display during Family Day.
