Who is eligible to register for Lifetime Recreation Classes?
All classes are open to Santa Clara University students, faculty, staff, and VIP ACCESS cardholders.

How much do classes cost?
Fees for classes vary and prices are listed within their descriptions on the Lifetime Recreation Class schedule on-line.

How do you register for classes? How can I pay?
Register for all Lifetime Recreation Classes in person at the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center Front Desk on or after the registration date. Payment Options: Cash, Check, Visa, or MasterCard.

Are there waiting lists?
When a class fills up a waiting list is started. If a participant decides to drop the class another may fill their spot. Campus Recreation Staff will notify participants who are eligible when a spot opens. To get on a waiting list for a class contact the Front Desk staff.

Would I be able to get a refund if I am not satisfied with the Lifetime Recreation class?
Participants can request a refund within the first seven days of the first class session by filling out a Refund Request Form which can be obtained at the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center Front Desk. Refund requests are then given to the Director of Recreation for approval and if the request is approved, the refund will be mailed to the member. Participants must include original receipt and allow 4-6 weeks for the request to be processed.

Where do the classes meet?
Lifetime Recreation classes meet in the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center Multi-purpose Room, unless otherwise noted in the description for the class. Remember to check-in with the Campus Recreation Staff member at the door of the multi-purpose room or at the location noted in the description of the class.

Are there classes offered at different times throughout the day?
There are Lifetime Recreation classes offered throughout the day. Although, more classes are offered between 4:00 and 7:30 p.m.

How often are sessions of Lifetime Recreation classes offered?
Classes run on a quarterly schedule and are usually eight weeks long. Each quarter a new schedule of classes is made. Many classes stay the same, but new classes are offered every quarter and the schedule may vary between quarters.

When can I pick up a schedule of classes for the new quarter?
New schedules will be ready the first Monday of every academic quarter. Classes will be posted on the website on or shortly after this date.

When does registration for classes begin?
All quarter lifetime recreation class registration will begin the second Monday of the academic quarter. If the Monday is a holiday- then it will be the first day classes resume for the second week of the quarter after a holiday. All exact registration dates will be indicated on the Lifetime Recreation Class schedules and on the Campus Recreation Lifetime Recreation Class Schedule on-line.

Can I come late to a class?
It is preferred if all participants arrive on time because it may disturb the class in session. If there is no way you can arrive on time, be respectful to the instructor and other patrons taking the class by entering quietly.

What if I am a beginner, can I take the Lifetime Recreation classes?
Some classes are specifically for advanced participants. In these cases, it will be indicated in the description. All other classes welcome all fitness and skill levels.

What should I bring to class?
All participants must wear closed toe, non-marking soled shoes in the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center Multi-purpose Room. Some classes like yoga or Pilates may require you not to wear shoes, which is accepted for these classes only. Water is also a good thing to bring to class to keep you hydrated!
