Bronco Kidz Names Fall 2001 All-Starz

    Bronco Kidz receive Bronco Points for attending Santa Clara sporting events, clinics and Bronco Kidz Days. To honor and reward Santa Clara's most dedicated young fans, Bronco Kidz honored their top performers during halftime of the December 9th women's basketball game versus Cal Poly.

    Bronco Kidz All-Starz received a variety of prizes including tickets to local amusement parks, and autographed soccer ball for the MVP.

    Bronco Kidz would like to thank all of the Kidz for their enthusiasm during the fall! Point totals will clear for basketball season, so we hope to see you all at Santa Clara for basketball and baseball games!

    Let's meet our Fall 2001 MVP . . .

    Ethan Bagwell, an eight year old from Campbell, California, tallied 167 Bronco Points to earn him Bronco Kidz MVP Honors. We took a few minutes to get to know the top young Santa Clara fan!

    How long have you been a Santa Clara fan?
    "About four years."

    What are your favorite sports?
    "Soccer and basketball."

    What is your favorite thing about coming to Santa Clara games?
    "It is fun to cheer the Broncos on."

    Do you play soccer?
    "Yes. I started soccer when I was three."

    What position do you play?
    "Center mid"

    Who are your favorite soccer players?
    "Landon Donovan and Joe Cannon."

    How do you feel about the women's soccer team winning the 2001 National Championship?
    "I feel good."

    What school do you go to?
    "Baker Elementary"

    What is one of your most memorable moments of this past fall season?
    "Being a ball kid for two of the men's games."

    Ethan attends most Santa Clara games with his father, and with his sister and First-Team award winner Brittany. Brittany, a fifth grader at Baker Elementary, said that her favorite thing about Santa Clara sporting events is getting a Peanut Butter Moo'd Jamba Juice. Her favorite Bronco athlete is women's soccer player Taline Tahmassian.
