The junior from Olympia, Wash., has solidified herself as one of the premier midfielders in the country over the past three years. She has scored four goals and assisted on two others in 19 of the team's 22 matches this season. She is a three-time All-West Coast Conference selection and was named a second team preseason All-American prior to the 2001 season. Will be making her second appearance in the NCAA Women's College Cup this weekend. Her first appearance came as a freshman in 1999 when she finished the year with 28 points, coming on 9 goals and 10 assists. Hawkins has also excelled off the field, maintaining a 3.03 GPA in finance.
The senior from San Jose has been one of the main reasons that Santa Clara is headed back to the College Cup for the fifth time in the last six years. This year she has assisted on 11 goals while scoring twice herself, including the first goal in the Broncos' 3-2 win over Virginia in the NCAA Quarterfinals this past Saturday at Buck Shaw Stadium. Was an Olympic silver medalist at the 2000 games in Australia. Earned the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year by the Black Issues in Higher Education magazine and is a two-time NSCAA/adidas All-American. She is also a finalist for National Player of the Year alongside teammate Aly Wagner. Slaton has also excelled off the field as well, maintaining a 3.71 GPA in psychology.
