Santa Clara Scholar-Athlete of the Week (November 26 - December 2)

Tammy Annas and Rusty Johnson were named Santa Clara's Scholar-Athletes of the Week.

Tammy Annas

The redshirt junior from Enumclaw, Washington recently helped the Broncos to the Championship at the Seattle Times Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. In the first game against Princeton she scored only five points but did grab a game-high nine rebounds while dishing out two assists as the Broncos beat the Tigers by a score of 80-52. In the Championship game against No. 25 Washington, Annas scored a game-high as the Broncos beat the Huskies, who made it all the way to the Elite Eight last year, by a score of 71-56. Annas has also excelled off the court where she currently maintains a 3.22 GPA in operations management and information services.

Rusty Johnson

The senior from O'Fallon, Illinois has been a staple in the Bronco lineup for the last three seasons. This year he has accumulated a 0.81 goals-against average in 14 matches, which moves his career GAA mark to 0.79 which ranks as the fourth best career mark in Santa Clara history. He posted three shutouts this season which moved his career total to 23.5 which ranks as the second best career total in Santa Clara history. During his time at Santa Clara he has been a part of three tournament teams, two of which advanced to the College Cup. Rusty has also excelled off the field, maintaining a 3.66 GPA in mechanical engineering.
