Santa Clara Scholar-Athlete of the Week (October 29 - November 4)

Kerry Cathcart and Jamil Walker were named Santa Clara's Scholar-Athletes of the Week.

Kerry Cathcart

The senior from Tacoma, Washington has been a mainstay for head coach Jerry Smith over the last four years and entered her final season at Santa Clara as a co-captain. This year she has scored three goals and assisted on three others, giving her nine points on the season which ranks sixth on the Nation's top-ranked offense. The Broncos have posted a 14-2-0 overall record this year and are 75-11-2 during her Bronco career. Cathcart has also achieved in the classroom, maintaining a 3.43 GPA in communications with minors in English and art.

Jamil Walker

The junior from Pittsford, N.Y. has been a tremendous offensive threat since he stepped onto the Santa Clara campus before the 2000 season. As a sophomore last season he scored four goals and assisted on three others to finish second on the team in points. This year he has scored a team-high three goals, two of which came in Saturday's 3-1 win over No. 16 Gonzaga. Walker has put up some equally impressive numbers in the classroom, maintaining a 3.10 GPA in computer engineering.
