Santa Clara Scholar-Athlete of the Week (October 22-28)

Christine Limbers, women's tennis, Jay Morehead, men's water polo

Christine Limbers & Jay Morehead were named Santa Clara's Scholar-Athletes of the Week.

Christine Limbers

The sophomore from Glendale, Ariz. has definitely turned some heads with her playing during her brief time as a Bronco. Last year she accumulated a 16-10 record playing at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots on the ladder. She also posted a 17-9 doubles record during her freshman season. This year she participated in the World Team Tennis Championships, helping the Broncos to wins over Princeton and LMU. She currently carries a very impressive 3.67 GPA in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a communications major.

Jay Moorehead

The senior from Laguna Niguel, Calif. is the unquestioned heart and soul of the Bronco men's water polo team. The two-meter man is held in high regard by his coach Steve Hanson and for good reason. This year alone he has scored 42 goals on only 82 shots to go along with six assists in his fourth and final year as a Bronco. In addition to his athletic accolades, Moorehead has put up some pretty hefty numbers in the classroom. He currently carries a 3.37 GPA in the College of Business. He is a marketing major.
