Can You Play 100 Holes of Golf?
April 10, 2001
Bronco fans, Santa Clara athletics needs your help!
The Santa Clara University athletic department will conduct its largest single fundraising event of the year with the fourth annual SCU Golf Marathon, scheduled for Tuesday, May 15 at Spring Valley Golf Course in Milpitas, Calif.
The event, which benefits each of the 17 Bronco sports programs, features a field of over 50 golfers each playing approximately 100 holes of golf. Each participant is responsible for a $500 minimum donation, which is typically raised through donations and pledges.
"The Golf Marathon is a wonderful event that really ties together the supporters of each of our sports programs," said Santa Clara Director of Athletics Cheryl L. Levick. "The proceeds from this event help our teams in every possible way. From providing the needed funds to purchase state-of-the art training equipment to supporting special trips abroad, this event is a very important part of providing a top-level experience for our student-athletes."
