Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Santa Clara Dance Team?
The Santa Clara Dance Team is a group of approximately 12-18 undergraduate students, both male and female, ranging in class standing from freshmen to seniors. This group of dancers is dedicated to supporting the SCU athletic teams and promoting school spirit through the performing arts.
When does the Santa Clara Dance Team
The SCU Dance Team can be seen performing at various functions both on- and off- campus throughout the year, including pep rallies, athletic events, and the Golden Circle benefit. During the fall, the team performs at many home volleyball games and pre-season basketball games. The winter term is the most active season for the SCU dancers when they can be seen at all home games and local away games for men's and women's basketball, as well as the West Coast Conference Tournament. The Dance Team performs at Santa Clara basketball games during half-time and in-game time-outs working in collaboration with the Santa Clara Bronco Pep Band. In the spring, the team is often given other performance opportunities including Friday night baseball games and other events on and off campus.
What is the Santa Clara Dance Team practice
During the fall and winter quarters, the Dance Team practices three times per week, twice on weekday nights and once on a weekend afternoon or evening - practice schedule is to be determined at the beginning of the school year. In the winter quarter, members may perform up to two times a week at men's and women's basketball games. Appearances are also to be expected at some away games. In the spring, practices are scheduled as needed depending on performance opportunities.
