The Santa Clara Basketball Camp teaches you how to be a well-rounded, team oriented basketball player. The sessions offer intense, specialized instruction with an emphasis on the fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and defense. The Santa Clara Camp provides a rewarding and enjoyable experience for campers of all ability levels. Our staff features Santa Clara coaches, current and former Santa Clara players, as well as experienced high school and college coaches. Fundamental instruction, individual competition and team competition will be part of the camp activities. All campers are grouped according to age and ability. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and basketball.  Join us this summer and be part of the Santa Clara tradition! FATHER/SON CAMP

Saturday June 4, 2011

10am – 3pm

 

Both Boys and Girls are welcome to attend camp (Ages 6-15)

Held at the Leavey Center on the Santa Clara University Campus

Price: $50 for Father/Child tandem ($25 for additional child)

 

This camp provides a unique bonding experience as each Father/Son “Team” will be taught the proper techniques of shooting, dribbling and passing the basketball.  Participants will enjoy various challenges and competitions, as well as individual instruction with select Santa Clara players and coaches.

 

DAY CAMP I

June 13 – 16, 2011

Monday thru Thursday

9am – 3pm

Held at the Leavey Center on the Santa Clara University Campus

9am - Noon each day for Little Bronco Camp (Grades 1-2)

Typical Camp Schedule - Day Camp:

8:45 am - Drop-off

9:00 am - Roll call

9:15 am - Stretching and Warm up

9:30 am - Ball handling drills

10:00 am - Skill Stations

11:00 am - 3 on 3 games

11:30 am - Offensive Skill Competition

12:00 pm - Lunch

12:45 pm - Lecture by Santa Clara Coach

1:15 pm - Basketball Competitions

2:00 pm - 5 on 5 League Games

2:30 pm - "Money Ball"

3:00 pm - Camp dismissal and sign out.

 

AFTER CAMP SHOOTING

This option for Day Camp is for campers who want to learn more basketball, and also provides supervision for those campers whose parents require a later pick-up time. Campers will receive additional instruction in the Leavey Center every day in various techniques: offensive and defensive strategy, layups, free-throws, 3-pt shooting, and rebounding.  Camp Coaches will supervise your child from 3:00pm – 4:30pm in the Leavey Center

Price: $125 (Full Week); $40 (Per Day)

ROOMING ARRANGEMENTS

Players will be housed two to a room in the On-Campus University Residence Halls.  All campers will be under supervision by their Coaches and Counselors staying in the residence halls.  Campers should bring their own sleeping bag, linens, pillow, toiletries, and alarm clock.

 

MEALS

Campers will eat meals in the SCU dining hall in buffet style.  Teams will be provided Lunch and Dinner on Friday.  Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner on Saturday.  Breakfast & Lunch on Sunday.  A camp store and snack bar will be open throughout the day.

Coach Keating and his staff show campers a glimpse of university life.  The four day, three-night camp will provide an intense week of basketball instruction, development, competition and entertainment.  Campers will stay in a dorm with a roommate on the campus of Santa Clara University.  On the last day of camp, campers will be dismissed at 12pm following an awards ceremony.  Check in on Sunday, July 31 will begin at 3pm.

We will have our Welcome BBQ in Alumni Park at 4pm on Sunday, July 31.  Dinner will NOT be served on Sunday, July 31.  There will be a camp store open every evening in the dorm lobby for campers to purchase pizza and snacks.  Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided Monday and Tuesday.  Only breakfast will be served on Wednesday, Aug 3. 

For commuter campers, camp hours are:

Sunday: 4:00pm – 9:00pm

Monday: 8:30am – 9:00pm

Tuesday: 8:30am - 9:00pm

Thursday 8:30am – 1:00pm 

Pick up and drop off will be at the Leavey Center.

 

Waiver: The waiver of liability is required for every camper, and must be signed by the camper's parent or guardian before he may participate in any camp activities.

 

Health Care and Insurance: Each camper must provide his own insurance. Certified athletic trainers are on duty to administer injuries at ALL times. Camp medical staff is NOT responsible for administering prescribed medication.

 

Trainer: There is a qualified trainer on duty 24 hours a day in case of illness or injury. The trainer will also administer prescribed medications if this service is requested at registration.

 

Faculty/Staff Discount: Santa Clara University faculty and staff are eligible for a $25 discount per session (does not include Elite Camp).. A photocopy of the Santa Clara University ID must be submitted in order for the discount to be applied. The discount is applicable only if the person paying for the camp is a faculty or staff member.

 

Registration/Confirmation: Registration will be conducted online. Payment may be made by check.  Please make checks out to Kerry Keating LLC.  Currently our internet registration is unable to accept checks.
